The 111th Annual Conference of the Society of Legal Scholars will be held at the University of Exeter, from lunchtime on Tuesday 1 September until early afternoon on Friday 4 September. The tax stream will be on 1 & 2 September 2020 (more details at https://www.slsconference.com).

In a departure from tradition, there is no specific theme for the 2020 conference. This is to enable as wide a range of legal scholarship as possible to be presented and discussed in the subject sections.

The full range of 28 subject sections will again be offered in parallel sessions, 14 subject sections in each of the two halves of the conference, with four 90 minute sessions for each subject section.

In a further change to the usual order, instead of holding a separate PhD conference, the Wednesday afternoon plenary will be replaced by parallel sessions for PhD students to present their work. The aim is to bring PhD students into the heart of the conference, and all delegates will be encouraged to attend and support those at the start of their academic careers. PhD students are of course also very welcome to submit papers to any of the existing sections.

As always, papers will be accepted on any topic related to tax. The deadline for the submission of abstracts is 24 March 2020 and as usual must be done through Oxford Abstracts (https://app.oxfordabstracts.com/stages/1763/submitter). An abstract of up to 300 words is required.
