The Changing Shape of Tax Avoidance
Friday 6 May 2016
11.00 – 16.30
Friends House, 173 – 177 Euston Rd, London
The Journal of Tax Administration (JOTA) is a peer-reviewed, open access journal concerned with all aspects of tax administration. The journal provides an interdisciplinary forum for scholars and practitioners to share knowledge and research on issues of concern to tax administrations, governments, the tax practitioner community and wider society.
The discourse around tax avoidance has undergone significant change in recent years in the UK and elsewhere. Heightened media attention and public awareness have led to closer scrutiny of questions such as:
- What is tax avoidance?
- Who facilitates tax avoidance?
- Who engages in tax avoidance?
- How can tax avoidance be managed by tax authorities?
The JOTA May Symposium aims to explore these and related questions.
We invite submission of papers to be presented at the symposium. The papers are expected to be subsequently submitted to the Journal for potential publication, subject to an academic review process. To view the two published issues of the Journal and submission guidelines, see www.jota.website Spaces are limited, so if you would like to participate in this event, either as a presenter or an observer, please email email@example.com before 15 April 2016. If you wish to present a paper, please indicate the title and provide a short abstract indicative of the content.
