    Following its successful launch event in December 2016, the Cardiff Corporate Governance Research Group (CCGRG) will hold its first international conference on 10-12 May 2018 at Cardiff Business School, Cardiff, Wales, UK. This is a conference jointly organised by Cardiff Business School at Cardiff University, the Melbourne Business School research group “Financial Institutions, Regulation & Corporate Governance” (FIRCG) at the University of Melbourne, and the GW4 corporate governance group, formed by researchers from various disciplines from the Universities of Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter.

    The CCGRG is a multi-disciplinary group as it includes academics from Cardiff Business School and the School of Law & Politics. Members are from Accounting, Economics, Finance, Law, Organisation Studies, and Taxation. The members of the CCGRG are studying a number of important issues and research questions in corporate governance. These include boards of directors; corporate governance, leadership and organization; international corporate governance; executive compensation; corporate governance in new ventures; corporate governance of banks; and corporate governance in China.

    KEYNOTE SPEAKER
    The keynote speech will be delivered by Professor Brian Cheffins, S.J. Berwin Professor of Corporate Law at the University of Cambridge. Professor Cheffins will be talking about the Transformation of the American Public Company.

    SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
    Topics: Corporate governance papers from various subject areas, including Accounting, Economics, Finance, HRM, Law, Organisation Studies, and Taxation, will be considered.

    Up to 10 papers will be selected for inclusion in the conference.

    Submission deadline: Papers should be submitted via email to CardiffCG@cardiff.ac.uk by 28 February 2018.

    Submission format: The cover page of each paper should contain an abstract of no more than 150 words, as well as up to six keywords. The cover page should not contain any information that identifies the authors. Authors are also requested to submit a separate cover page, including all of the above items as well as the authors’ names and affiliations.

    Review process: All papers will be reviewed (double blind) by the programme committee and authors will be informed of the organisers’ decision by the end of March 2018.
    Financial aid: Presenters of accepted papers will be offered up to two days of local hotel accommodation plus a travel stipend of up to £300 for European-based speakers and up to £1,000 for speakers based outside Europe.
