An 0.6 Associate Research Fellow role to support the work of Professor Lynne Oats, Deputy Director of the Tax Administration Research Centre is now open at Exeter Business School. The role will form part of several interdisciplinary projects to investigate aspects of the administration of UK taxation, through depth interviews and qualitative surveys. The successful applicant will identify appropriate literature, engage in empirical research and work collaboratively with other Research Centre participants and affiliates.
The post will include developing methodologies, data collection and analysis, and dissemination activities. The successful applicant will be required to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare discussion documents and academic papers. Additionally the role will include contributing to, and supporting the work of the editors of, The Journal of Tax Administration.
Applicants will possess a relevant PhD or equivalent in a related field of study and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in a relevant social science discipline, research methods and techniques. Applicants will have an interest in tax administration, compliance and regulation and be able to work with a range of sources employing a range of social science research methods. Good time management and planning skills are essential as well as the ability to demonstrate initiative and self-motivation.
